Amedea in Nieves Lavi Azulejo Print Dress
Finding inspiration in the Sicilian markets, eating Gelato daily and warming the soul in the Sicilian sand dunes.
Living in New York can feel like a whirlwind, so it is important to escape to a faraway land from time to time, preferably with a beautiful beach and phenomenal food! This summer brought us to Sicily, in the country of my roots and the birthplace of my father.
What makes Sicily so magical is, well, everything! The people are wonderfully welcoming, the food is simple and delicious, and the beaches are some of the most stunning of the Mediterranean. The sand is a fine powder. The water is crystal clear and calm. Sand dunes line the beach and the sunset is not to be missed. Simply the most relaxing escape in the sun.
Marina di Modica is a quaint beach town in Southeast Sicily. It is literally steps from the beach and you will find plentiful options for lunch. They have gelato and a crisp Aperol spritz aperitivo, which is simply delightful.

Modica town is just a 15-minute drive from the beach, known for its spectacular Baroque architecture and I could not wait to explore it!
The neighboring town of Scicli offered fabulous market finds! The famous ceramics of Caltagirone and of course, more beautiful views of Baroque churches and architecture.
